Richard Hawkins

Chairman of the Christian Education Initiative

He was born and raised in the Santa Monica area of California.  He was raised conservative but without a Christian background.  He attended the public school system of Los Angeles City.  He earned a BS in Engineering from California State University, Northridge.  He earned an MBA from Chapman University while serving in the Air Force.

He is a retired Lt Col with 20 years active service between the USAF and Air National Guard

He accepted Jesus Christ rather late in life compared to many Christians.   He was 50 years old when the Holy Spirit regenerated his heart…..Paul had his road to Damascus experience, he had his road to Lake Havasu City experience.

He had been leading Focus on the Family’s The Truth Project for 14 years since 2007.  He recently co-edited a worldview book titled Marxifying America: Cultural Marxism’s Fundamental Transformation of the Institutions.

He was a substitute teacher with Lake Havasu Unified School District and was very active with public education reform until he realized the system violates God’s design for social order no matter how reformed it is.

He has been married to the former Pamela Lange for over 24 years now.  They met through eHarmony and are one of the first 10 couples that married through that ministry service.  He has 3 grown children; two are married and have produced 5 grandchildren between the two families. 

He and Pam now reside in Lexington, SC and he is Chairman of the Christian Education Initiative ministry following E. Ray Moore’s retirement from chairmanship.
