Unschooling

Unschooling is child-centered. Based on the work of John Holt, who taught in the U.S. public school system. He felt that school was the reason why children stopped learning. With unschooling, learning can be project-focused. Parents choose this method when they believe that children will learn while living life. When something needs to be accomplished, the child will learn as part of their growth. Usually there is no organized curriculum or testing. This method requires that a parent be greatly invested in the success of their child. The parent is always ready to research, travel or provide whatever may be needed to achieve learning.
